(KRQE) - A New Mexico family is suing after they say a police officer who was supposed to perform a welfare check, instead allowed his dog to attack a man for no reason. The lawsuit, filed two weeks ago, names two officers, the chief, and the Clovis Police Department as the defendants.According to the lawsuit, in February [2019], a woman called police saying her son was "suicidal." Three officers responded, including K-9 Officer Brent Aguilar and Sgt. Travis Loomis. The lawsuit states that when officers went to speak to him, the man told them he was okay but refused to let them in the apartment. The family's attorney said officers had their lapel cameras on, and that you can hear them planning to release the K-9 on the man even though they reassured him that he wasn't in any trouble and that they didn't want to hurt him.https //www krqe com/news/new-mexico/clovis-police-officer-involved-in-deadly-2018-shooting-named-in-new-lawsuit/2035475714AJC2019/05/28 By Cox Media Group National Content Deskhttps //www ajc com/news/crime--law/man-accuses-new-mexico-police-excessive-force-after-attacks-wounds-leg/5Ukswgu6YMDGMcbqZPFM2N/ Seibenthauler LodgeKRQE2017/12/05 Cannon staff sergeant sues Clovis Police over alleged racial discrimination. According to his lawsuit, he asserted his right to remain silent and to an attorney several times but officers didn’t grant his request. He was later charged with aggravated battery. The charges were later dropped for lack of evidence. Lodge is now claiming racial discrimination and profiling. By Christine Steele.2018/08/07--http //www scdailypress com/site/2018/08/07/former-deputy-sentenced-to-10-years/Excerpt: Former Grant County Sheriff’s Deputy Michael Aguirre was sentenced to 10 years in prison Monday for a series of violent domestic assaults he committed last year. But the state agreed that his charges wouldn’t be classified as serious violent felonies, meaning he can earn up to 50 percent good time off his sentence — and could be released in as few as five years. Aguirre, who served 20 years with the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, followed by a stint with the Western New Mexico University Police before his legal troubles began last year, was facing up to 26 and a half years in prison on 13 charges in four separate cases, according to a plea agreement presented Monday in District Court. Sentencing was to be at the discretion of the court, and could have been as little as probation or up to 26 and a half years, but the state agreed to a cap of 10 years. Aguirre’s defense attorney, Daniel Dietzel, argued for a sentence of probation with inpatient treatment, and said his client was waiting on a bed at Men in Recovery or another long-term inpatient treatment program. He presented letters from Aguirre’s wife, parents, aunt and uncle, and the forensic evaluation and a report from Mesilla Valley Hospital. “What the family wants — and that includes a lot of the victims,” Dietzel said, “is they want him to get help, and that is inpatient treatment.” 2018/08/07--http //www scdailypress com/site/2018/08/07/former-deputy-sentenced-to-10-years/2018/07/13 Former deputy gets probation in Las Cruces. Three Santa Rosa Police officers then arrived at Hope’s home. The two who filed reports state in those reports that they were “dispatched,” but according to Police Chief Jesus Roybal, there are no dispatch records for that evening. The first officer to arrive was Ed Lucero’s nephew, Officer Justin Anaya, who at that time was not a certified police officer. The second to arrive, Officer Anthony Ortega, was not certified either. The supervising officer, Officer Joe E. Martinez, arrived somewhat later. He is Edward Lucero’s best friend.http //www realcrimes com/Pino/Troy_Pino htmSanta Fe New Mexican (informational)2015/05/05 Police [including Justin Anaya] arrest sexual assault suspecthttps //www santafenewmexican com/news/local_news/police-arrest-sexual-assault-suspect/article_6675efd6-61de-5f25-b1d9-cc7c2076ba24 htmlAnders Billy Cloudcroft, Cloudcroft PD, Sergeant at time of 2004 execution incident; 2006 Mar indicted, imprisoned, 2007 Prison Release) Shot, executed handcuffed Killer. Cook was sentenced to 15 years in prison on the same charges. Anders was targeted following his response to a domestic violence call during which he fatally shot Earl Lee Flippen, who had been wounded and was handcuffed after he killed Anders’ partner in a gunfight. Anders was sentenced in March 2006 to a year in prison after pleading guilty to voluntary manslaughter. Prosecutors argued that brotherhood members communicated their plan to kill Anders using coded notes that reached behind prison walls. The plot was never carried out.2010/10/15--https //www abqjournal com/9808/updated-conviction-of-white-supremacist-upheld-in-plot-to-murder-deputy htmlBilly Anderson dot comhttp //www billyandersauthor com/About-Us.html [Billy Anders Author dot com-Accessed 01/11/2018]Excerpt from what seems to be his personal website-Billy Aderson Author dot com: Billy Anders was commissioned an Air Force officer in 1965. Key, said he had had no choice: "It goes without saying that when you have a videotape that clearly shows a police execution, it's just screaming for prosecution."If Sergeant Anders had not agreed to plead guilty, Mr. Key said, federal prosecutors, concerned about the possibility of acquittal by a state jury, were prepared to try him under a civil rights statute that could have sent him to prison for life. His guilty plea carried a sentence of up to seven years; the one year the judge gave him was the lightest possible term. 2006/03/17--http //www nytimes com/2006/03/17/us/an-officer-seen-as-a-hero-faces-a-year-behind-bars htmlPolice Mag 2008/10/09 Two Aryan brotherhood members convicted in plot to kill NM deputy2008/10/09--http //www policemag com/channel/patrol/news/2008/10/09/two-aryan-brotherhood-members-convicted-in-plot-to-kill-n-m-deputy aspxOther Links - Billy Anderson2015/book--57 pcs cldcrft puzzle https://outskirtspress.com/billyanders 9d19-e871464c8ffa.html2006/03/21--http://www.wnd.com/2006/03/35341/2006/03/04--ttp://www.koat.com/article/judge-sentences-former-deputy-to-one-year-behind-bars-for-man-s-killing/5022154Updates: 2023/03/06; 2020/12/15 some editing; 2020/03/15 some editing occurred on this page, mostly technical corrections or improvements; 2020/03/09 Brent Aguilar-a lot of different articles were added today, as well as victim names; 2019/06/03 Adair Aaron 2010/12/21.
