Anyway, a year later I'm seeing more and more blacks on TV commercials. I figured it must be my imagination, so I went to google and typed in the question. .......why are there so many blacks on tv commercials....... I got several million hits. As you say, blacks are about 13% of the population. (let's say 12.5% = 1/8th) So if there are 20 minutes of commercials in an hour, it's only fair that blacks should be seen for 2 and a half minutes. Let them have the last 1 1/4 minute of every half hour. The other 8 3/4 minutes per half hour can depict white America. That would be fair. I need a couple of minutes to pee. However, I've seen all black ads that make black folks look stupid, too, and I don't like these either; I usually call the product's company and complain.
